The work of Louise Hibbert evolved from her fascination with the natural world, particularly marine life, microscopic creatures, plants and fossils that together offer a fantastic repertoire of imagery. Through this exploration, she discovered the work of the 19th Century biologist and illustrator Ernst Haeckel, whose sumptuous illustrations are constantly echoed in her work. "I want to capture the forms, patterns, textures and colors honed to perfection through millions of years of evolution. The works are made to be picked up, explored and enjoyed."
