James Petrucci

The focus of Petrucci's work is the exploration of memory and time. We are the sum of our experiences, but memories can't be trusted. They change, bend, are buried, or fade like an old sun bleached photograph. Moments are fleeting. As much as we might want to hold on, time gently slips our grasp in a constant motion forward as it always has - and will. Because our time is finite - bracketed with impenetrable bookends - we look for answers to define/give meaning to our lives. Mortality looms at an indiscernible distance; these spectral figures ride the current of time towards our unknown destination.
